I was in love falling free trying my best not to forget ezebelle was bored out of her mind. This was her first day off and while most people would have loved to have a day off, she was not that happy to get one. She barely knew anyone here and at the end of the day she was mostly by herself. She had moved around to much in the last year. She had been in New York for a while then here then San Francisco then Texas and now back to San Francisco. The friends she had over a year ago were gone. The ones that were here, were not really talking to her and she couldn’t blam them. She had left without a word. The only person she had talked to before leaving was Ezra. And that had been to break out with him. The truth was that Jez had gotten pregnant with Ezra’s baby and she was sure he didn’t want one. She couldn’t tell him the truth and she couldn’t get an abortion either. In the end she had decided to go back home with her brother, go through the whole pregnancy thing and give her baby for adoption. She had simply left town She had gave birth and stayed in Texas the time to lose the baby weight but she couldn’t stand to be around her parents anymore who had tried to get her to keep the baby. In the end San Francisco was the only thing that felt like home. So she had came back here friendless, boyfriend less and lifeless. She looked out of the window. Perhaps a walk would do her some good. She decided to run instead. She changed into some clothes that would better fit the activity. Jez walked over to the park where she started to jog. It didn’t take long for her to get into the rhythm of it and it helped to clear her head. She had been wanting to call Teddy, see how he was but after the way she left she really doubted he would want anything to do with her and beside she couldn’t tell him why she had left anyway.

It had been a long night. Ezra hated working the night shift. All the crazy shit happened at night, the rapes the murders. Plus it had been a full moon, he had always believed that the crazies came out at night when the moon was full. When he finished his shift, he always liked to go down to the pier and get a cup of coffee and watched the ships go out to sea. He had always found the water calming, and after last night he needed some calm. He sighed as he sat on the railing watching the water. His life was not what he had wanted it to be. He missed the routine of being in the military. It was all he knew.
He thought that if he had ever had a life outside of the Marines it would be with Jez, but a year ago she had broken up with him, and disappeared without a word. It was so unexpected to him. He had thought things were going well with her. He had even bought a ring and was planning on asking her to marry him. But clearly he had been mistaken. No life now without her was lonely. He didn't know how to be on the outside. He had friends that he occasionally got a drink with. But it wasn't the same. He basically just gave himself into his work. He didn't know what else to do.
As he sat there finishing his coffee he looked around. It was quite, business as normal at the pier. People really didn't come down here much, not unless they owned a restaurant. The fish market was popular in the morning. He turned in his seat, putting one leg on each side of the railing. He was thinking about packing up and going home to sleep. Lord knows he could use some. As he was looking down the pier he thought he saw a familiar face running towards him, but he couldn't really tell. As the person came running closer he dropped his coffee out of shock.
Could it be... No it couldn't... Maybe.. He stood up, and ran after her. He had to know. Was she back in town... Why hadn't she called him. Did he even want to see her? So many questions he had for her, so many questioned he needed answered. He finally caught up to her, and tapped her on the shoulder. "Jez?" he said waiting for her to turn around.. "What are you doing in town?"

I was in love falling free trying my best not to forget s soon as her feet had hit the ground, Jezebelle was starting to feel better. Running had always been her thing. Whenever she was not feeling her best she would run. She ran like she was going somewhere when truthfully she was not going anywhere. But running was the best she could do to clear her mind. She had to stop running when she had gotten pregnant. Well not completely stop, she could walk but she couldn’t do as much as she used to before and it pissed her off. But now there was nothing stopping her,
She could feel her heart beating in her chest, she could hear it in her ears. And it was all she though about. She didn’t want to think about what her life had been before, about what could have been. And the more she ran the better she felt. She almost felt as if she was finally free again. But that was short lived. Soon enough she heard someone running behind her. She didn’t think much of it. A lot of people ran. But then she felt the hand on her shoulder and she stopped. When she turned around she had been about to chew the person who was following her so close. But her eyes felt on Ezra and she had no idea what to say.
The words would not come out of her mouth. It took her a few seconds. She looked up at him. She had forgotten how tall he was. “I just got back. I mean I’ve just moved back here.” She told him. “How are you?” Jezebelle asked him in a soft voice.
