[atrb=width,240] The sun was shining on her face, it was around noon and she was still laying in bed. In all honesty Caroline Forsythe didn't feel like doing anything. She was still so tired from the long flight in which she had, had to take a couple days. Maybe it wasn't the jetlag that was effecting her so horribly maybe being home was what was so depressing. Sure San Francisco is a beautiful place. She'd grown up here. But when you've spent the past three months in Paris, the most beautiful city in the world, coming back here... well it made the sparkle of the city dim just a little bit. One of the better things about being home was the fact that she got to see her friends again. Skyping and IMing wasn't enough when you were gone for three months. She'd missed her best friend and roommate. And, she missed Alex. More than she was willing to admit. Things between her and Alex had always been weird to most people. They'd always had a weird sort of flirtatious friendship, but they had always vehemently said that they were just friends. That was the one thing that had always allowed her to sleep in the same bed as, walk around half naked in front of, him. She felt completely comfortable with him. Sure she'd felt a little something for him, but she'd always brushed it off, not wanting to ruin their friendship. But before she left, things between them seemed to shift, or at least she felt like they had. They'd always spent a lot of time together, but it felt like they'd spent more time than normal. Not that she was complaining, she loved spending time with him. Then, he'd taken her to the airport because Zoey had class, and before she left he'd kissed her. Not like a friendly goodbye kiss. She could feel that, that kiss meant so much more than that. She'd kissed him back, the same as he'd kissed her. Which alarmed her even more. That kiss had awakened things inside of her that she hadn't even realized before that moment. She'd had a long flight to stew over the emotions that, that kiss had conjured inside of her. She'd wanted to talk to him about it, but she was definitely not going to be the first one to bring it up. She wasn't even sure what she was going to say to him about it. She didn't want him to think that she didn't like it. Because she did. But she felt like it had put their friendship in an awkward limbo. She wondered where it was going to go now. She sighed and rolled on her stomach. He was supposed to be coming over today. She needed to get out of bed, and get dressed. So now seemed like a better time than any. She pushed the covers off of her, making her dog run to the whine in objection as he was forced to move as well. He walked to the edge of the bed and sat down waiting for her to put him on the floor. She picked him up and set him down on the carpet and watched him run across the room. She checked her phone to see if he had texted her yet, but he hadn't. So she texted him. 'I'm gonna take a shower, just use the hide-a-key and let yourself in and then come back to my room when you get here' Caroline went and took her shower. She took her good sweet time too, the hot water felt amazing on her skin. She'd always liked baths, and water in general. She was probably a fish in another life, probably a gold fish. Jack had followed her into the bathroom, and he was now laying on the carpet in front of the shower napping again. He was so cute, and so lazy. When she finally got out of the shower she almost tripped over him, sending him running out of the bathroom and into her bedroom. She laughed a little as she died off, and walked into her room with her towel wrapped around her. Most of her stuff was still in boxes of suitcases. She'd had no ambition to unpack yet. She would try to somehow suck into Alex to helping her. She went into one of the dress bags, because it was so easily accessable and took out one of the dresses she had made while she was in Paris. It was cute, short it only reached her mid-thigh but oh well. She laid it in her bed, and then searched for the rest of the things she would need to make the outfit. Finally getting dressed when she'd found all the things she was looking for. She picked up jack, who was back to pestering her again and laid down on the bed with him crossing her ankles over the side of the bed. He nuzzled into her side and made himself comfortable while she flopped her arm over her eyes to shield them from the sun. There was no harm in resting her eyes again while she waited for him. | [atrb=width,140] |
